Memory layer for multilinguals & polyglots
Learn anywhere.
Remember here.
Save the words you meet anywhere — from ChatGPT to Duolingo to a screenshot. AI explains each one with real cross-language nuance, and spaced repetition brings it back until it sticks.

Where words go to disappear
Your words are everywhere. Your memory needs one home.
Finding a word is easy now. Remembering it is the hard part. You look it up, it feels obvious, and a week later it is gone.
- 💬ChatGPT threadsexplained once, then buried 200 messages deep.
- 📝Phone notesa list you wrote down and never reopened.
- 🖼️Screenshotshundreds of them, not one of them searchable.
- 🗂️Flashcardsgreat, if you ever find the time to build them.
- 📱Other appsthey only remember what happens inside their own walls.
The bottleneck is no longer finding explanations. The bottleneck is retention — and that is the job Koboshi takes on.
How it works
Catch a word once. Make it stick.
- 01
📥 Capture
From text, ChatGPT, a Duolingo story, a screenshot, even an old CSV of words you meant to learn.
- 02
✨ Understand
AI builds the whole card for you, every detail filled in, with the cross-language nuance that makes a word click.
- 03
🔁 Review
Easy words come back rarely. Hard ones come back often, timed to just before you would forget — spaced repetition (FSRS), handled for you.
- 04
✅ Retain
Track what is due, what is still weak, what has gone stable. Storage was never the goal. Retention is.
Use it beside everything
Not another course. Your memory layer beside every course.
Keep the tools you already love. Koboshi does not compete with them — it remembers the words they leave behind. When a word that actually matters shows up, it goes here.
Polyglot mode
Strengthen every language you know, while you learn the next one.
Most apps assume one native language and one target. Polyglots do not work that way. Look a word up once and see it across every language you know — and watch learning one sharpen the rest.
Robbed of strength or ability; unable to act or function as normal.
- JA行動不能kōdō funōunable to act or function
- HIअसमर्थasamarthunable, incapable
- PTincapacitadoincapacitated, unable
One idea. Multiple languages. One memory system.
Pick your language
Built for the language you are actually learning.
Koboshi supports 18 languages, each with script-aware display and pronunciation help where it matters.
Pricing
Free while we are in beta.

Questions
The things people ask.
Is this a language course?
No. Koboshi is a vocabulary memory app you use beside your other tools — not a course, not a tutor, not a replacement for learning grammar.
Is it a Duolingo replacement?
No — use it beside Duolingo, not instead of it. Each tool does its own job: Duolingo for daily habit, ChatGPT for instant explanations, a tutor for live correction. Koboshi is the memory layer underneath them all, keeping the words those tools surface and bringing them back until they stick.
How is it different from Anki?
AI builds the cards for you, the workflow is multilingual by default, and there is zero deck-building setup. Anki is powerful but manual. Koboshi is the same memory science without the busywork.
Can I save words from ChatGPT?
Yes. Koboshi gives you a prompt to drop into your ChatGPT thread, and it turns the words you have been discussing there into a clean CSV. Upload that file and your library is ready to review.
Can I use it for several languages at once?
Yes — it is built for multilingual learners. Look a word up once and compare its meaning and nuance across every language you know.
Is it good for B1/B2 learners?
It is built for exactly that: the intermediate vocabulary wall, and the retrieval speed you need to follow fast, natural speech.
How much does it cost?
Koboshi is free while it is in beta. There is no card required to start and no paid plan to choose right now.
